Dennis grew up in Roxbury, MA and attended Boston Latin School. While there he excelled on the football team becoming the defensive MVP and was named to the Dual County All-Star League. He enrolled at Bridgewater State College and played defensive back for the Bridgewater State Bears and was part of the 2005 ECAC Championship Team, the first such title in school history.
Dennis graduated in 2006 from Bridgewater State College with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Science. Dennis is a certified club coach by the USAW and has earned his CSCS from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
